I appreciate your digging into this a bit more. I've been ignoring the problem until I saw your post. I tried your suggestion and the problem didn't go away. I did some digging of my own to see if I could fix it, wound up upgrading the version of jetty to 6.0.2 that I'm using in testing, and everything works as it should. I'll have to try it on Tomcat to see what happens. Out of curiosity, what were you testing on?
