Follow-up on strange Apache error messages

Further to my message of April 28, regarding the periodic error message
emails from Apache ("SkunkWeb critical error ... error reading stdin
from client"), I checked the Apache logs, and the errors all coincided
with attempts to access our sites with long, wierd URLs, obvious
malicious attempts.
After blocking the offending IP addresses with the firewall, the
messages have gone away, and peace reigns again in SkunkLand.
