I and a few other people use skunkweb on a daily basis for work, but with very little work on the core. (There are a few differences between SVN HEAD and the last release -- I'd suggest running off of HEAD in production if you see any bugs in the ChangeLog that look like they might affect you). There is a "skunk4" project in SVN which has code in it which I use daily also -- the skunk.cache package in particular -- but basically the project is dormant, out of lack of both my personal time and community interest. But I could be galvanized if one or two other developers were interested in helping and working on a real skunk4. Also, there are two services in the latest releases that are basically undocumented (like most of skunkweb, alas) but that are very useful -- "mvc" and "layout". The first lets you get away from the active page model when you want to (which in my case, is most of the time); the second gives you, in effect, template inheritance (although it isn't called that).
