The W3C SYMM thanks you for your comments on SMIL 2.1. SYMM WG has the
following responses to these comments:

This new short name policy is a request from the W3C Publication team.
Therefore, the SYMM WG will follow recommendation of the W3C Publication
team and still use the following two shorts names:

- Latest SMIL 2 version: (The latest version of the SMIL 2.x
specification,whatever its maturity). http://www.w3.org/TR/SMIL2/
- Latest SMIL Recommendation: (The most mature SMIL Recommendation
(whatever the major revision number). http://www.w3.org/TR/SMIL/

We will also request the Publication team to add two SMIL short names

- Latest SMIL 2.0 version: http://www.w3.org/TR/smil20 (it will point to
the current edition of SMIL 2.0 second edition)
- Latest SMIL 2.1 version:http://www.w3.org/TR/smil21
