W3C SYMM thank you for your comments on SMIL 2.1 archived at

SYMM WG has the following responses to these comments:

 The 'xml:id' attribute will not be supported in the SMIL 2.1 specification.
If xml:id reaches Recommandation status, the SYMM WG will consider its 
inclusion in the upcoming SMIL Future version.
