lol.

i was going to suggest that instead of rewriting sql-ledger in
rails it would be more efficient to simply rewrite the perl
interpreter in ruby on rails.  think of all the awesome perl webs
apps that would then use the model-view-controller pattern.  if
you ran maypole, it would be mvc^2--there's a cool logo in there
for sure.

and yes, most people use myisam tables, so why bother with
transactions.  they just slow down performance anyway.  and for
the most part, it's usually just one user, and even when there
are multiple users the database is so fast without transactions
that you don't really need them.
