David,

   I upgraded yesterday and it was the usual 30 second process (after
downloading the file). I don't use setup.pl. Instead, I download the file to
my home directory, su to root, mv the file to /usr/local, then run 'tar xzvf
sql-ledger...'. When it's done, I fire up an instance in firefox to make sure
it's working OK, then go back to what I was doing.

   This has worked for me for all the upgrades.
