There is already an open request for any list member with a long-term archive
of this list in mbox format to make the file available.

This mbox file would then be imported to gmane.org, to enable a web searchable
archive (supplementing the archive UI sourceforge offers), as well as the nntp
gateway, from which one could reasonably maintain a local archive if needed

Sourceforge may have a way to do this directly, but only via list admin's
request to sourceforge administrators:
