I got it after a friend told me to look at it like this:
The Database (Postgres) is the main act in a nightclub. To enter the
nightclub, you need a valid clubcart.
The bouncer (SQL-Ledger) is asking you for the card (user-access).
It does not help to show him a card stating you are member of the
practise-room for the band.
You still need a valid card (user-rights in SQL).

Same goes for a lot of user access and login I found ;-)

Subject: [SL] Multi users on one dataset

I have created a dataset for one person to use, which
has now been set up with accounts and inventory, char
of accounts. What I now want to do is to add several
other users to access that same dataset. I've added
the users, but get following error:
SELECT version FROM defaults
ERROR: defaults: Permission denied.

I've su'ed to postgres and added them as database
users with the ability to create database but not add
other users.

No doubt that I'm missing a step somewhere, but I need
to find the somewhere please.
