The id has to be system generated to make sure it's unique and it has  
to be in the root node.

BTW, using DB XML as a database will also get you dbxml:id in the root  
node. It doesn't actually add it to the document but does put it into  
query results that only retrieve partial document results. I treat all  
retrievals as partial results even if it's the full document since to  
me everything is an XML fragment.
