Agreed - the whole parsing stuff has some kind of quick hack approach
and is definitely far from how a browser is able to treat html. Most
of the times it is possible to work around - especially if you have
influence on the server that produces the html.

If you really want to do browser-like html parsing it would make a lot
of sense to control a browser with the scripts, e.g. mozilla or
konqueror but that's a completely different approach.
