Larger companies go for LINK funding from DTI. This pays 50% of total
R&D cost, and all company costs such as staff time, facilities etc.
are factored into this, so can actually get the academic costs fully
funded (must work with UK academic groups for LINK) and even end up
with some real cash for the company too
