The descriptor level depends on the need to distinguish within a nested  
environment.  In William's example there might need to distinguish between  till 
operators at a motorway service station within a single franchise  operation.  
If the site was broken into separate administrative units  (shop, filling 
station, restaurant, cafe, lavatories, parking and so on) then  the personnel 
would be nested into these sets and would not need to be  identified except as a 
role within a set making the superdescriptor  redundant.

user role names where the  environment has some significant impact on
user needs or behaviour? An  example that comes to mind is
SupermarketTillOperator versus  RestaurantTillOperator (in the US read
"cash register" for  "till").
