for Card Sorting

Full details and online booking:

I am going to be running a full day tutorial and workshop in
collaboration with PHICHI and Comcast in Philadelphia on 6 September.
The day is in two parts as detailed below.

AJAX - USABILITY & DESIGN

What is Ajax?
How does it work?
How does it differ from other web technologies?
What are its strengths and weaknesses for usability?
How do I apply Ajax effectively in design?

If you are losing sleep on any of these questions this session will cure
your insomnia. It is a highly interactive tutorial that looks at the
application of Ajax from both theoretical and practical standpoints.
Previous experience of Ajax is not essential.

OLD CARDS, NEW TRICKS: INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR CARD SORTING

Is card sorting as difficult as it sounds?
What do those dendograms mean?
How can I get the most from the results?
How is card sorting done in practice?
Is there an quick and easy way to collect the data?

Card sorting can be very effective in navigation design but traditional
approaches make it a daunting task, especially for the uninitiated. This
workshop gives participants hands-on experience of several new
techniques in the conduct and analysis of card sorting, in particular
using bar codes for data capture and several innovative methods of
analysis. (For further information see interactions magazine
