I have found overly long URLs a growing headache. Out of curiousity, has
any tracked over time the length of URLs? Is my frustration showing up on
any usability surveys? I suspect must testing focuses only on within-site
performance, where external URL references such as pasted in an email don't
show up.
This is especially a problem when pages don't have absolute page
references, but references generated by site search engines.
