Why can't load gif image file?

I am developping an embedded system.

I use nano-X and viewml.

I have some question about viewml.

My system can load JPEG files and display well.

But gif file is not work on my systme. Why it can't load gif

image files?

And JPEG files in HTML source is displayed well, But stnad alone JPEG

file is not displayed. Why?
