[Pixil-devel] Fail to load TTF used FreeType2

i am a recruit in this mail list , and these days i try to make certain how 
the freetype2 engine working .
i writed a simple demo directly used the function freetype2_createfont( ) 
to load *.ttf,
and then got this message:

#Freetype2: Adding new font: /usr/local/fonts/truetype/times.ttf
#Freetype2: Freetype 2 error 1 trying to load font.
#font are fail to be created

any suggestion?
