If you are trying to use one of the new compilers, such as 3.x, there are quite a few mods that need to be made, since the GCC guys don't know a damn thing about backwards compatibility. I think the for-sale version of PIXIL includes support for the newer compilers, but nobody has contributed gcc 3.x fixes, and Century unfortunately can't afford contributions and free support to the project, which is why it was released completely as open source.
