I'm still working out the numbers, but there's an element of "how long is a
piece of string" to it.  For an accessibility checker that only works with
valid xhtml and only does the checks that can easily be done automatically
(ISTR that's what Bobby did), it shouldn't take too many of them.  I'd be
very surprised if it was more than 11, but please don't quote me on that. 
The real number may be more, or less.

Then you start throwing other things into the mix (like checking CSS,
analysing graphics and layout, US section 508, pretty graphical output,
support for legacy HTML) and you can start adding a few more US$99s for each
of those.  I guess this is the other part of the question: what do we want
the first version of such a checker to do?  Once the first version is done,
I'm happy to put up a NoChex or Paypal box and let people bid for further
features (or, of course, anyone else can take the code, implement (or pay
someone else to implement) a feature, and send in a patch (or not, but
that's rude)).
