It's day twelve, maybe thirteen, depending on your timezone and it seems to me that we've stopped moving forward. We launched at great speed, discussed loads of stuff, all good and full of hope and excitement. Right now there's a lot that we've discussed and are still discussing that needs action, but we can't move forward until someone says, okay, we'll do it this way..... There are nominations and a structure for a steering committee, but we don't seem to be making much progress in electing it. I'd like to propose that we get the committee set up in the next 3 days, give it some decision making powers and set a date for it's re-election. That way we can maintain forward momentum. So can we, as a group of 130 or so talented individuals, come together and make the following decisions: 1. Do we elect all the nominees to the committee? 2. Shall we give them three months or six months before we put them up for re-election? 3. Can they make the final decision on items that have been put before the group on this list and the Wiki for feedback for 3 days? i.e. to make a decision on something in the next three/six months, the steering committee must table it in the form of an email and post the same on the Wiki. After three days the committee make a decision based on their perception of the groups wishes. We need to delegate power to a smaller group so that decisions can get made. The larger the group gets the harder this is going to get and I feel a little uneasy suggesting it, but I don't want to see the enthusiasm wither away. What do you think guys? is the time right to take the next bold step forward? Thanks Tony -- http://www.maccaws.org/ [Making A Commercial Case for Adopting Web Standards]
