It's not absolutely an error: there are programs out there, including some
server-side program code written by companies in our target audience, which
are just plain incapable of producing standards-compliant xhtml.  That
wasn't what was being talked about here, but "code to standards" is still a
valid cry to have in the kit in a document aimed at software development
companies.

Then again, soon there won't be any other internet applications development
companies.  Only luminas ;-)
