How about if we say we can't accept sponsorship but we can accept financial support (or maybe grants or gifts). The words have different meanings, obviously - I just wonder if UK expressions like this have the same meanings worldwide. Logos of supporters could then appear (which would be good for us). Partner as a word and intention I'm unsure about. Supporter??
I know I'm tinkering with words, but I have been married for 17 years so am probably well experienced at language nuances :-)
But we must retain our intellectual independence.
