On Jul 23, Cam McVey had something to say about [MACCAWS] Sponsorship

I think we would have an easier time if we were to present ourselves as
doing research that could potentially save companies money. It would be
difficult to get companies to adopt a conclusion we have yet to come
to. In other words, Sun/whoever might code to standards once we've
developed our argument and convinced them it's in their interests, but
until then we'd be (in their eyes) a fact-finding group doing research on
whether it will benefit them. And *that* is why they'd support us. Not so
much because they think it's a good idea, but more that they think it's a
good idea for THEIR COMPANY.

Well, that's how I saw thigns, anyways.

But, yes, I'd like to somehow associate ourselves with Lycos EU as well.
