I will quite happily make that claim. I used to spend ages messing around with tables trying to get the padding on things just right, dropping in pixel gifs and generally messing about. Now that I'm getting the hang of CSS I can knock out a design I like in much less time and have far less hassle tweaking it. It also saves me a load of time when doing server side development stuff - whereas before I might have had to dig around in PHP code tweaking generated HTML to get the right visual effect I now find myself knocking out structural markup from the scripts which I hardly ever have to touch as I can control how it looks with an external style sheet. That said, I'm definitely a developer rather than a designer so CSS is a pretty natural step for me to take. I can see how Dreamweaver-centric design (as opposed to development) studios could have a lot more problems switching to CSS. But then I'm just a 21 year old University student - not really the kind of case study that is needed for maccaws ;) Cheers, Simon Willison
