But where are the TRULY impressive CSS sites...I > seriously would like to see them. its not that you cannot make seriously impressive stuff that's pure CSS, its just that it can be much more difficult to achieve than a few quick tables. As I am finding with the new kitty5 site, pure CSS is so much simpler once you forget ns4.7, so much so in fact that if I hadn't tried and tried and tried to make it work in ns4.7 it would have been almost as quick and easy as ignoring standards and creating a table mess. for all my future work, ns4.7 gets the same treatment as any UA that is unaware of CSS. I will test, perhaps tweak to ensure it remains 100% usable, attempt to design for? not a hope. I think this will have to be a big part of our message, developers should forget ns4.7 - especially as according to thecounter.com stats for July 2002 its only pulling 3% - it really is so much more trouble than its worth, and its not exactly a browser we want to encourage the continued use of by fighting tooth and nail to make our work compatible with.
