Hi all After doing some research on accessibility in the UK, specifically on intranets, I finally managed to get a legal opinion from someone - it took many weeks, so thanks to the Disability Rights Commission. If anyone's interested, intranets fall under Section 2 of the UK DDA which came into force in 1995. Here's the quote from the DRC: "In respect of Part II an employer's intranet facility could amount to a workplace arrangement that could in turn (through a disabled employee experiencing substantial disadvantage in respect of this arrangement) trigger the duty to make reasonable adjustments - though it is by no means settled what, in the circumstances of each case, a reasonable adjustment would be." Having just audited my company's intranet against WAI, and finding this info out tonight, I'm worried. I'm sure I can't be the only person out there with a non standards compliant site, and this is definatley fuel for our fire. This is law NOW, and not in 2004 when Part 3 of the DDA comes into force, which covers "web sites". Anyone fancy checking nearly 8000 graphics for me :( Cheers Francis
