I know it's not the meaning of your message, however this thread has
the question of cooperation versus competition show its ugly head.

Imagine that when the vkit is out (and I, for one, am impatient to see
that day), someone from another web EO group thinks it's good though not
perfect. Do you think it would be better that this person sends in
comments and suggestions for the vkit, or write his/her own resource to
"fill the gaps"? Both, maybe?

With the quantity (but not always quality) of web EO resources growing,
it's important that people get together to produce a few good resources
than a lot of fair ones (hence MACCAWS is a good initiative). what's
true for the creation of a group is also true between groups, and I'm
sure we agree that competition between groups is less desireable than
coordination/dialogue, and the easiest way to do this is to review and
contribute to each other's work. The "web Quality" article[1] is but one
example in the "big scheme of things".
