Howsabout:-

We're a Yahoo! group. Mention that in and mail to Yahoo!

Set up the page(s) and mail Yahoo! saying what we do and what we are, 
explain why we're doing it and offer the pages to Yahoo as an example of 
compliant code. Also saying that we'd like to leave the pages up there so 
that we can all see/comment/rework them etc etc etc.

I.e explain what we've done, offer it and maybe we get them to work with us

Just a thought.
