Hi James, I don't have any plans at the moment to support caos linux, but that is mainly because I am not too familiar with it. Supporting it may be easy, iff it uses similar config file formats and locations to some other more common distribution, like Fedora or Debian. Working out where the config files for apache, squid, sendmail and other servers are located is the biggest issue in porting webmin to another OS or distro. There is also the issue of file formats in some cases - for example, Debian uses the file /etc/network/interfaces to store all boot-time network interfaces, while Fedora uses files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts. If caos follows the locations and formats used by (for example) fedora, then I will be able to support it easily. It also includes many of the features that are considered standard for desktops and laptops, which makes it a very good general purpose Linux distribution. When I install the current version of Webmin on cAos Linux, Webmin identifies the operating system as Generic Linux 2.6, effectively disabling many of the webmin modules for use.
