when requesting a let's encrypt certificate I get:

WARNING: unable to check for updates.
An unexpected error occurred:
SSLError: hostname 'acme-v01.api.letsencrypt.org' doesn't match either of
domain.com', 'www.domain.com'
Please see the logfiles in /var/log/letsencrypt for more details.

domain.com and www.domain.com is the very first (alphabetically) domain
with a let's encrypt certificate on the server.

what to do here?
