cgi-bin should work automatically if you installed with the install.sh automated installer...I think. It *might* require you to manually make sure mod_cgi is being loaded, but I'm pretty sure our default Server Templates have cgi-bin setup to execute any kind of cgi scripts. Note that if you're using nginx instead of Apache, cgi will not work, as it does not support CGI.
