Although it is not worth the effort, here the answers to your questions:

 - Your file is allowed to be written by the user named "domain" only.
As I told you, this happens with all virtualmin ftp users. the user's name
doesn't matter. the file permissions are set correctly.

 - Also, FFS, why do you use FTP EVER?
As you may know, virtualmin is a hosting platform, so your opinion about
what get's used on a certain host does not matter. it's the customer who
counts.

 - Use SSH already, it has much less of an issue in setup and operation.

jamie, do you have another idea? Is there a proftp virtual host
configuration per domain which overwrites the defaults? (I couldn't find
any)
