If you want fetchmail to be run as a different user, I'd 
recommend using a command like :

su chris -c "/usr/local/bin/fetchmail --quit; fetchmail -v --nokeep --nosyslog --logfile /home/chris/fetchmaillog --uidl -m procmail"
