Howdy Jamie,
Okay — Correct me if I am wrong. You sent me a patch earlier — is that now incorporated into the mainline webmin rpm that would be pulled if I kicked off an update from the Webmin interface?
If my supposition is correct. Then the getaddrinfo error still appears after:
(1) running an update to 1.8.31 from a previous version
(2) and then adding the new ipv6=1 config change and restarting
And
(1) adding the ipv6=1 change and
(2) then running the 1.8.31 update from the webmin interface.
HOWEVER,
So, I did some testing and discovered that if a miniserv.users file exists (which it does in our deployment) and will exist on an upgrade— the error appears (webmin fails to restart). If I remove the miniserv.users file from the directory and perform an upgrade — it works (webmin restarts). If I perform an upgrade with the file in place, webmin fails to restart, if them remove the miniserv.users file from /etc/webmin, webmin will successfully restart.
Ok, ask questions
Rohn
