Right, that is the trigger for the bug.

On 26/Jan/2017 15:59 John Hinton <[email protected]> wrote .. Sorry I keep replying to my own thread. :) I think I have figured out the MO for what causes this to happen. If the main domain name has FCGid turned on and if that domain name has an aliased domain, Virtualmin seems to think it needs to write the php.ini to the aliased domain's directory. I have another micro system where I'm not getting this issue. It has no aliased domains. Again, these are simple aliases, using the "Alias of domain.com" under "Create Virtual Server". No email, and the only vhost.conf entry for the aliased domain is a redirect to the main domain. No user directory is created... or at least it hasn't been in the past. that went wrong on the system where the vhost.conf was turned into scrambled eggs. On 1/26/2017 2:15 PM, John Hinton wrote: Hi Jamie, So, on another system I just tried to turn on SSL
in Virtualmin's Features and Plugins. I got this message: Failed to save enabled features : Failed to copy /etc/php.ini to /var/www/domain.com/domains/aliaseddomain.com/etc/php5/php.ini : cp: cannot create regular file `/var/www/domain.com/domains/aliaseddomain.com/etc/php5/php.ini': No such file or directory

So something seems to be wrong with it trying to find an aliased domain under /domains and there isn't any directory there and I don't think there should be a directory there. Never was before. Yes, I changed the domain name to domain.
