Well, first off, if it's written in Python it is fundamentally NOT a 
"drop-in replacement", because many setups use the SpamAssassin Perl 
libraries directly rather than the basic "spamassassin" command-line 
wrapper or spamc/spamd.

For the same reason, the handful of third-party plugins (I think there 
are a few still around that haven't been integrated upstream) will also 
not work.

On the configuration side, at a quick scan over their docs, it looks 
like it should be able to consume virtually any SpamAssassin 
configuration without change.  Options like bayes_sql_dsn will probably 
need tweaking depending on how hard they worked to Python-ize the 
exposed Perl DBI parameters, but basic settings and rules look to be 
substantially identical and it refers to standard SpamAssassin 
configuration paths.

I briefly tried to install it, but it doesn't seem to understand how to 
do a per-user install in your own home directory, and I don't feel like 
polluting and possibly overwriting anything on a live system by 
installing to system paths as root.
