Dear fellow Webmin-Translators, -Users and -Developers,

After some of 2 years being WTCO I need to orphan this position starting
01.08.2005. This gives me and you, Jamie, enough time to seek out for
someone to replace me and to completely take over my tasks.

Reason is (as always) the time which I do not have anymore because I
need to focus more on my $$$-jobs in order to stay in shape. This is
not because my employer does not support OSS anymore, but certain
changes in the internal infrastructure of our facility will keeping me
in learning new things and evenings I am just dead because of this.

For the adventurous volunteer, here are my tasks:
There is no reason to take over all tasks, but there is no limitation to
not take all ;-)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. [email protected]
This will be your primary address where folks will send
        in their translation packages.
Hint: Some still send in stuff to [email protected], but
I will forward packages to you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Maintaining Mailinglists
You will get full 'listadmin'-access to the following
        Mailinglists

        [email protected]
        webmin-trans-fr-xGejAJT2w6xMECYCXcLsHLNAH6kLmebB@public.gmane.org
        webmin-trans-ir-xGejAJT2w6xMECYCXcLsHLNAH6kLmebB@public.gmane.org

If wanted we can arrange the move of these lists to another
        system.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Keep an eye on wbmtranslator
wbmtranslator is the main tool which was developed to
translate packages. You should be able to support Emmanuel
Saracco, the main developer, with new ideas on how to move
this brilliant software to the next stage.
        http://labs.libre-entreprise.org/projects/wbmtranslator/

Sometimes you will get updates for third-party-modules as
well. Please help the contributor to find the correct
developer to send the package to the correct person.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Keep an eye on webmin.com
You will need to update WTCO-related pages as needed.
        These are:

        http://webmin.mamemu.de/mailing-trans.html
        http://webmin.mamemu.de/trans-cfq.html
        http://webmin.mamemu.de/trans.html
----------------------------------------------------------------------

These are some major rules:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
a). The WTCO is fully in charge of motivating and
co-ordinating the various translators for Webmin/Usermin all
        over the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
b). He is fully in charge on describing how to translate things.
Not literally, but he decides on a technical basis how things
        are done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
c). He gives out additional technical guidelines which
translations have to follow if needed and is the main person
to ask help on translating things for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
d) He is leading internal discussions on if things are good or
bad and decides on a democratic basis where and if possible.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
e) The closer a release of Webmin/Usermin is coming he decides
on things like "Feature-Freeze" for translations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
f) He takes care that the translators always get the latest
sources to translate so that they will be available in the
        next release.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

In the end I will have time enough to support Webmin with my mirror
(http://webmin.mamemu.de/) and to maintain the Webmin-Archive
(http://webmin.mamemu.de/wtco-shrine.html). In addition I will keep up
sending my monthly newsletter and the "On the fly"-Stuff, but it will
do no harm if the new WTCO (or someone else) would do this.

I will stay in the Webmin Translation Team and send in translations from
time to time.

It was really a great pleasure to work with you all.
Thank you all for patience :-)

bis dahin / kind regards

Martin Mewes
