The default place to set the configuration on Mac OS X is:
/System/Library/WebObjects/Adaptors/Apache/apache.conf

In that file, you'd set the name and password parameters.
For example:
...
WebObjectsAdminUsername foo
WebObjectsAdminPassword bar
...

And here's what the URL would look like:
http://localhost/cgi-bin/WebObjects/WOAdaptorInfo?foo+bar

If this does not work, please post details of your deployment 
environment.  Especially details on the configuration of the web 
server.
