I've seen this on OS X 10.1.5 (what type of cat is that?), running an 
Objective-C app under WO 4.5: the application shows up in the Dock, and 
logging out kills it.  Unfortunately, I've never seen a workaround, so 
I've resorted to leaving that machine logged in at all times.
