Hi Dave,

we just put some simple Direct Actions in our apps that are called by =20=

Nagios and return a certain string like "OK" if everything is fine. =20
These actions also do some other checks within the applications, like =20=

e.g. that database access does still work or that the number of active =20=

sessions does not exceed a certain limit. If the action finds any =20
problem, it will return a different string.

If nagios receives a different string than "OK", either because the =20
direct action found a problem or because it can't connect to the =20
application at all, it will tell us that something's wrong.
