Installing WebObjects Update 5.2.4 on SOLARIS

Hello:

 

I'm attempting to install the WebObjects Update 5.2.4 on SOLARIS.  I
installed
<ftp://ftp.sunfreeware.com/pub/freeware/sparc/8/tar-1.21-sol8-sparc-local.gz
> tar-1.21-sol8-sparc-local.gz, which is the GNU version of tar and it is
installed in  /usr/local.  What is being installed are tar directories.  I
downloaded patcher.sh and WO524Solaris.tar.tar and placed them in the /tmp
directory on the Sun server.  When I run the command: 

  sh patcher.sh - install WO524.tar (the file name is shortened  when I copy
it to the server), 

 

I get the error: "*** ERROR *** gnutar not in path".  Does anyone know how
to get around this?
