Update to Client 10.2.8: Update to WO 5.2.1 Deployment advisable?

Hi,
Sorry for another rather basic question, but I looked through everything I 
could find on the Apple Internet pages but didn't find a answer.

I have a deployment Machine running WO 5.2 on Mac Os X 10.2.4 Client and 
will update this machine to 10.2.8 Client.

1) For the 5.2.1 WO Deployment Update Apple states that Mac OS X Server 
10.2.4 is required. Does that mean I'm not able to run it on Mac OS X Client 
software? Any Experience?

2) There is a working version of WO 5.2 Deployment on this machine. Will 
that break, when I update the Mac OS X Software without updating WO to WO 
5.2.1? Will there be other important points for updating the WO Deployment 
Software apart from the bugfixes (i.e. Java 1.4)?
