Pierre, The box in question is a single very standardly configured Xserve running 10.2.8. It acts as both - web server and application server. Both wotaskd and Monitor run on the same box. The only way this machine could be accessed is via ssh, and the deployment box is in completely separated network at our ISP. Because we are playing here the game of suspicions, let me put my bet: WOResourceManager. I wonder if I am along on this one... cheers gt P.S. As I mentioned earlier, this strange behavior started when few applications developed by another team were added. They add at most 5% to the load of the server, and it seams that only one of them (5 in total) is causing the problem.
