Using Akamai with WebObjects

Hello Everyone,

Our company is looking into ways to improve the performance of our
WebObjects app for our customers, who are mostly elementary and middle
schools across the country.  One option we're looking at is Akamai.  Has
anyone had any experience using Akamai with a WebObjects application.  Is
it possible?  How much effort did it take?  Was there substantial
performance gains?

Thanks in advance for any experience or advise you can offer.
