EDI Implementation and VAN

Hi,

Is there any chance that someone got involved in EDI transactions? I should
implement an EDI translator into a current Web Objects application.
Generating the EDI document is relatively easy, It should not be any
diffucult than generating a custom XML document, however the vendor asks me
to send the EDI over VAN.

As far as I know, on PC Platform enterprise applications and EDI translators
come with this feature (like IBM WebSphere etc.) however on Mac OS X I'm
clueless.

So if you have any link/info about this I'd be more than glad.
