Linux w/WO 5.3

I recently came across a problem in my project that only happened in
deployment that related to the version of WO being used - using 5.2
methods worked fine, 5.3 methods failed on the server.

How do i upgrade the framework files on my linux machine?

there are a number of aliases inside the .framework files - how does
this copy over to linux?
