Mysterious problems saving data - return to site home page

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and might
know how to troubleshoot it.

I attempted to add an attribute/field to an enterprise object. I find
that when I attempt to save data I am sent to the main page of the
site - sort of makes me wonder if some portion of the app is crashing.
This happens no matter what object in the model i try to alter. Now
I've tried to remove all my changes and the problem still occurs. I'm
curious if the app is being started wrong (build and go) or if I have
a problem with my compiler.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas before i try reverting to a backup.
