Application Deployment Settings / Woes

I am having a problem starting an application that I had revised and
then placed back onto my deployment server. Rather than starting up
from WOMonitor as the previous version did (and still does), this
application keeps on trying to start but undergoes multiple deaths
(without ever starting) until I stop it.

I had revised the EOModel and database by adding a table with
approximately 10 columns. I inserted a WOComponent that inserts css
header information. The development version works fine (accessing the
database on the remote, deployment server, so I have a working
connection with the datbase already, and all the css works as it
should).

My obstacles are these: I don't really understand how to set up
logging on a deployment server (I don't know how to make a log file
-- is that a special file, or it just a text file that has a .log
suffix?), and because I share space on the deployment server I don't
have direct root access, although I can request changes from the
server administrator who can create a folder / file for me and give
me access to that. With the development version working fine, is
setting up some kind of logging on the deployment server the next
logical step?

The thing that most confounds me is that my previous version of this
application still starts up and works fine on this deployment setup;
it's my new version that hangs up before starting every time.

Lastly, I'm getting frustrated with this. If anyone is willing to
take a look at my deployment application (XCode 2.4, Webobjects
5.3.2, with a Frontbase database, on Tiger 10.4.7) in the hopes that
you might spot the obvious I would gladly reimburse you helping to
resolve this.
