Clarification Required on EOModeler

Hi All,

1. I am using the EOModeler and WO 5.3.3.
2. I have provided all the DB parameter correctly (That is Username,
password, Host, SID & port where the DB is running).
3. I am able to start/launch the application and login  (This implies my DB
configuration is correct) and do all the activities in my application.

But I found, sometimes below exception getting generated in my log file.

<WorkerThread7> An exception occurred while trying to open a channel:
com.webobjects.jdbcadaptor.JDBCAdaptorException: Io exception: The Network
Adapter could not establish the connection
<WorkerThread7> 
<com.webobjects.appserver._private.WOComponentRequestHandler>: Exception
occurred while handling request:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: _obtainOpenChannel --
com.webobjects.eoaccess.EODatabaseContext
com.webobjects.eoaccess.EODatabaseContext@caf015: failed to open database
channel.  
Check your connection dictionary, and ensure your database is correctly
configured.

But without restarting the instance, It is able to connect again to the DB
with same configurations.

Can anyone let me know when does this exception will be thrown.
