WebObjects543.dmg from Apple contains 4 packages:

WebObjectsDevelopment.pkg
WebObjectsDocumentation.pkg
WebObjectsExamples.pkg
WebObjectsRuntime.pkg

Are you saying I don't need the Apple WebObjects disk image at all (to set up a 
deployment server)?

I'm guessing I should be able to follow these instructions

and modify the plist-files to point at whatever version of wotaskd and Monitor I 
have.
